Karamo is a fag...

no, really, he is. but, i don't have a problem with that. its fine. my father's gay--

just so we're on the same page here... karamo is the self proclaimed "proud black (gay) man" on the Real World Philly. (how typical...) If you dont watch, you should start (among other things).
Karamo, i have a bone to pick with you, so buckle up son.

his sexual preferences (and/or anatomical size advantages) are totally unrelated to my beef. my problem is, i dont like racist punks. and guess what, he's a racist. he's a raging angry black man, and he's racist. i think probably most racists are angry, so perhaps thats redundant. also, he assumes all white people are racist. it will come as no surprise that (like me) he hates racists, ergo--white people. in today's social climate, you have to really try to be black AND racist. its no easy task. it takes dedication and a lot of hard work. sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken...

ive seen 4 episodes of RW so far, i think, and it is already so abundantly clear that he's racist, but me thinks this isn't totally his fault. he "confesses" that his father raised him with the mentality that "the white man is not your friend. he is the devil and he wants to keep you down. oh, and also, he hates you, so hate back, brother." karamo took daddy's words to heart--how wonderful for him. does anyone see anything wrong with this picture? anyone? probably not... it seems typical. its the norm. but what if my mother's baby-daddy taught me that filth? my dad comes home everyday from work, and lectures me about the evil black man, and how i can't trust 'em. and how i shouldnt ever make friends with 'the black' because they'll just slit my throat first chance they get. sure, i can treat 'em like humans if i want, but they hate me, so i should just accept it and hate them right back. WHOA! what if my dad taught me this as i was growing up. what if dad came home from the Clan meeting every sunday and "educated" me on the "truth" about the races? i would be totally warped. but karamo is normal...... riiiiight......

on the show karamo is talking to the only other person in the house that could possibly understand him, (black people insist that only other black people understand them, which makes perfect sense.... if you're black and/or racist), the nubian princess, Shavonda. (would karamo be the Nubian Queen?) i dont even know what a nubian is.... but we're way off track here. karamo is one of "those" black guys/girls. you know, the ones that go through life "alone" because no one can understand them (at least, that's what daddy taught him) case in point---

our hero, karamo, ventures out to a club with his white (so, naturally racist) friend, MJ, to get a little sauced up. Mj is dressed normally (hey, he's from the south, cut him some slack, this is what passes for normal in the south) and karamo is head to toe (appropriately) in his "hip-hop flavor" thuggish ruggish fubu busta wear. hey, dont look at me, i think he looks fine (read: typical) i think hip-hop fashion is fine, if you're a rapper. of course, karamo IS black, which i think innately makes him a rapper, if im not mistaken. (hey, this is just what my proud white father taught me-- dont hate) but seriously, he is wearing the little panty-hose/condom hat thing on his head, with the little streamer tail on the back. its a good look. a little silly, in my opinion/estimation, but i'm not gonna tell you how to dress, so, its fine. i have no qualms with this. bottom line-- you could do a lot worse. so, fashion conflicts aside, MJ & karamo seem to be having a fine time up in the club--- we've made it through 2 commercial breaks and still no "issues" or "drama" have surfaced. its time... the evening goes sour when karamo is approached and "harassed" by some bacon (tha POlice) in the club and is patted down and searched for Nina tha nine milla'meta'. they got a tip that he was strappin', and as im sure you've already assumed, he went nuts about it. that's fine - im sure the cops were racist, right karamo, even though they were also black. do they think you're gonna hide the piece underneath your pantyhose cap??they're hating on you cos you're black... those stupid racist cops.

so karamo is very unhappy about this, and he blows it WAY outta proportion. (but he's gay, so he needs that little bit of drama... am i wrong? am i wrong? my father would do the same thing......) Mj is trying to talk to him and settle him down and see whats going on. but, you know how it is when estrogen makes its mind up. karamo is not happy and i think maybe he cried a little. he doesnt want MJ to calm hiim down, because, hey! MJ doesnt understand! he's white, how could he? Mj, you ignorant hick, only black people understand what other black people are going through! you cant relate to any of his emotions!! Oh, i can prove it.....

Special K asks Mj, repeatedly, "how many times has this happened to you?" im guessing, by the way Mj is dressed (and the way he looks at karamo) his answer is implicitely, less than or equal to 0 times. karamo says "this" happens to he and his friends ALL the time. predictable isnt the right word.....(he doesnt say, but im just going to ASSUME, karamo's friends are also proud black men with hip-hop style)

so, picture this.... karamo and his entourage in the club, all adorned with the panty-hose/condom hats and other "gangsta-wear" (dont judge, its our culture, asshole) and the police are ALWAYS hassling them. i cant figure this out?!?! why are they dogging on karamo and his boys?? why not go search the black guys standing over there dressed in slacks and a nice button down?!!? racist cops! oh wait... its all falling into place. could it possibly have ANYTHING to do with the fact that you're dressed like someone who WOULD have a gun? you guessed'er chester. break it down like a shotgun--- how many brothers dressed to the nines with a mean shoe game are getting harassed by the five-o in the back alleys of philly? how about in the clubs? (these are rhetorical questions) i'm not denying that perhaps these black cops were racist, but it had nothing to do with you being searched, homeboy. but, what would i know. right, karamo? i'm white -- i dont UNDERSTAND you and what you go through. but, in an effort to understand where you're coming from, im gonna put some panty-hose on my head tonight and wear clothes 5 sizes too big. im certain i can draw the attention of law enforcement officials.

plus K, they had an anonymous tip, man. what can ya do?

so special K only confides in his dark-s(k)inned counterpart, explaining that his dad raised him this way, but that he doesnt wanna be the "angry black man." which, is just breath taking, because its so obvious that he is VERY angry (and i'd bet money that its not about the size of his heater) that anger is so appropriately (read: inappropriately) directed towards all things caucasian. he says that when he looks at his white (racist) roomates, he cant help but think that it was THEIR ignorant parents who were the ones in the 50's and 60's trying to fight equality. this is tremendous. so, i take it that his white roomate's parents are 70-90 years old? way to go karamo -- or maybe you're just looking for a reason to not like them. looking for a reason to beleive they're racist. there HAS to be one, right? you just havent found it yet....

karamo might have a point -- maybe his white roomate's parents WERE ignorant racists. thank God karamo didn't grow up in a home like that......
end scene... cut to karamo telling shavonda about the things his dad taught him.....

"son, you're a PROUD BLACK MAN, and whites only want to keep you down and not let you have nice things and not let your beautiful black heritage be shown and they hate you!" how can you NOT be angry/racist when your father is pumping you full of this poison (i.e. the normal rant passed on from one black man to another) hmm.... this passes as normal. this is accepted. this is disgusting. imagine, if you will, that my father raised me like this. "son, you're a PROUD WHITE MAN! and the blacks just wanna make your life hell and steal your posessions and shoot at you and kill you and he wants to take your beautiful white heritage and culture cos he hates you!" would this be accepted for even a second?! hell no! at the first word of a white parent telling his white kid to go around saying he's "a proud white man" and "blacks just wanna take his beautiful white heritage" the entire family would be toast. dead, like, the kind of dead equal to or greater than a frat guy with a BA level of 0.42 -that's really dead, ya'll....

yet, this passes as OK for black people to teach their children. its fine. its wonderful. they're just proud. oh ok ---- and we wonder why karamo is an angry black racist. psh, im not wondering.

why does ANYTHING have to be about color, much less EVERTHING, karamo. i dont think that way, but man, you sure make it easy.

in the begining you were just a dude to me. then, you made it a point to proclaim yourself as a PROUD BLACK MAN. so, fine, i guess its about color now. so since you insist, i'll look at you as a black dude. then you tried your damnest to make sure everyone knew you were an angry, racist, proud black man. alright, fine, i guess its about color and racism now. since you insist, i will try to view you as an angry racist proud black dude. happy?

i dont want to umbrella all the little urban children running around their neighborhood McDonalds, so this is only about karamo. i'm not condemning him.... yet. i think a lot of it was his parents fault, and maybe he'll change. but he needs to get busy. otherwise, im gonna push for white history month and white entertainment television and really piss him off....

posting anonymously is really awesome..... and that doesnt make your comment mean a lot less, or anything...

if you have something to say, say it. i'm not going to get twisted-- in fact, a comment saying "i thought about responding to this but then i thought why waste my time" is still a comment. you STILL responded.... only, by wasting your time in responding (which you said you didnt wanna do, but you clearly did) you've wasted everyone's time with a sub-par response. give us something to go on. you took the time to log in and say something, so say something worth while. lets hear it?

FROM THE SOUND OF THINGS PROUD WHITE MAN, YOU SOUND JUST AS RACIST AS YOU SAY KARAMO IS. DON'T JUDGE SOMEONE FOR THEIR BELIEFS. WHILE WHAT HE BELIEVE MAY NOT BE APPROPRIATE OR POLITICALLY CORRECT, IT IS STILL HIS BELIEF. WHO KNOWS, THROUGH THE EXPERIENCES OF THE SHOW , HIS VIEW ON THE " WHITE MAN" MIGHT HAVE CHANGED. STOP BEING SO IGNORANT RACIST WHITE MAN. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF SOMEONE TALKED ABOUT YOUR CISSY ASS DAD LIKE THAT?...................A PROUD BIG DICK BLACK MAN

let me preface this by saying this is in response to the post by "a proud big dick black man." how are blacks the only ones who can be racist? if a white man calls a black man out on it, he's racist. yet black men can call white men out for being racist all the time...the double standard is ridiculous...at least you have the balls to speak out. blacks can't have their cake and eat it too...i'm not racist, but i've got the guts to call a spade a spade (is there a pun there? i'm not sure). black people will defend their double standard to the grave, it seems, and the white man is never allowed to question it. this is why there's still racial tensions in this country. the post from "a big dick black man" is a joke. on one hand, he defends karamo from the white man who is "judging" him...and on the other hand, he takes the liberty of calling the author racist himself. so he's criticizing the writer of doing the very thing he's doing himself. and yet it's okay for him to do it. after defending such an absurd double standard like that, it's still amazing to think black people don't understand why the white man would ever say the word "nigger" in reference to them. i'm not racist at all, but i'm sure i'll be accused of it cuz i'm willing to point out something negative about a black man. heaven forbid! there are so many more things i could say that would fan the flames...but i'll bite my tongue...i'm not a white man who is angry the way "big dick black man" is...get over slavery and find a job you losers!

Buckle up, "homeboy".
I'm not sure what part of the blog came across as racist. But I've got a 3 quarter stock from all this controversy. Da da da da daaa.. I'm lovin it...

If I can't judge people based on their beliefs, then what CAN I judge them on? Come on, of course I'm gonna judge people based on their beliefs. (and their looks, wealth, intelligence, etc) And yes, I'm judging you as well. Right now. It's not looking good...

Do you realize what you said? If we can't judge people by their beliefs, then how can you call ANYONE racist, black or white? That's what racism is, tri-pod. Racism is defined (by me, but also by the american heritage dictionary) as; "The BELIEF that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others." So.... yea. Looks like somebody got served. SNAP!

I knew when my sissy ass dad gave me that dictionary it would come in handy someday.

Thanks for stopping by, my (apparently) well-hung urban brother. Don't hate.

It's all about the W(h)IT(e)

Id rather not step up to a real black man. If i did, first of all, he would probly be packing heat, which i dont. Second, hed probly use that heat to realive me of my wallet, watch and any other goods i might or might not have of value. Thats why i try to avoid the group as a whole all together

hmmm... Racism disguised as humor, an interesting but rather non-unique way of saying "I am a racist".(Many examples of hatred are to be found in humor) Playing up the stereotype card (in another's anonymous post)is also a further example of simple-mindedness. You responders, and you whose blog this is, need to understand that racism can and does exist in your minds and comments.

I am loving all this action. I just got home from my clan meeting and to my delight there are several new posts waiting for me! Controversy (and, apparently, anonymity) abounds! You people need to start signing these things. I was going to respond to this, but then I thought, why waste my time?

Psych! I got some free time while my cloak is in the wash...

Lets start with the chick who is gonna whip some white booty. Am I to understand that this debate is to be settled by a Costanzian "feats of strength" contest? You may wanna re-think that one. I'm just trying to watch out for you, brother. I dont want you to violate parole or anything. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding a blog-induced melee. But who are you really mad at? It's not me, is it. Go misplace your anger elsewhere, bozo.

Next up... the non-observant guy who has uncovered my non-unique racism, and in the process, taught me the non-conventional non-word; non-unique. Very impressed by you, sir. Or, am I non-impressed? I think you get the idea...

To the rest of you who are angry about this post; do NOT judge me based on my beliefs! Thats totally unfair and outrageous! Maybe its inappropriate and politically incorrect but its still my belief!

Can I get a boyakasha?

some stunning content here, and im not even talking about the blog post, which (i think??) was merely making light of the reverse discrimination and racism prevalent in certain african-american circles...just in a really sardonic tone that seems to be lost on all the blog psychoanalysts in the world (well-hung urbanites and other bloggers included)
whatever happened to the ability to appreciate sarcasm?
BS is a racist!! call the NAACP! im very threatened by bloggers who make "uncomfortable" (read: accurate and poignant) social commentary

voice of reason...the difference between BS and karamo is karamo's beliefs come out of hatred and mistrust of the opposite race. BS's beliefs come out of what he sees. karamo was admittedly raised by his father to mistrust white people. it's not so much karamo's beliefs that are being judged...it's his closed-mindedness. to not be able to distinguish between the two is disappointing at the very least...especially for someone who seems to want to take the moral/intellectual high ground. and if you claim that you DO recognize the difference, then all you're doing is saying karamo can mistrust white people all he wants without critique, and that those who in fact DO try to call him out are in turn being out of line and their motives come out of deeply-rooted racist feelings. karamo is the racist, you fool.

hey voice of reason...find your ear of discernment...the difference between BS and karamo is karamo was raised in an environment of mistrust for the white man. BS wasn't...i can attest to that...you should be able to tell the difference between a critique and an attitude, though, since you are critiquing others.

as far as MY quotes are concerned, i have a sick (read brilliant) sense of humor. if you can't appreciate that, that's fine. i have no problem with that. all it tells me is that you're way too tightly wound. i make just as much fun of myself as anyone else (by anyone, read any race/religion/ethnicity). i won't make apologies for where i come up with my humor. i don't expect a tightass to laugh at it. and for your information, i've had friends and co-workers who were black, arab, jewish, white, indian, you name it...my ATTITUDE is not that i should grow up to be a "proud white man"...it's that i should be a proud MAN. the fact that karamo INSERTS the "black" part is what inserts race into the discussion! when he identifies himself as a BLACK man instead of just a MAN, he is stressing the differences between people. and to then have a negative attutude towards whites...how can any "voice of reason" defend where he comes from? it's not his experiences NEARLY as much as it was his UPBRINGING...he was TRAINED to be like that. why can that not be judged?

and if you can't distinguish between ones beliefs and their closemindedness (which means unwillingness to consider opposing viewpoints...not a synonym for their actual BELIEFS THEMSELVES!), then i dunno what to tell you...read a book...go to school...work on getting a more discerning ear. do SOMETHING, but quit wasting people's time (and by that, i mean quit wasting MY time with your ignorance) with this garbage. and i WILL call you a fool in this situation because you're not appreciating the foundations upon which the problems with karamo are based. like a true FOOL you don't realize karamo made race the issue, not us! not bs, not me, not you...KARAMO! we just voice our opinions on THAT. and you call US racist? you're nuts...so go "take a look at yourself" while you read a dictionary or something...but spare the rest of us from your pulpit of ignorance.
