lingering thought(s) from bachelor season 11

there's one thing that i still can't quite a hold of, that stands out above the other things that i can't quite get a hold of...

the entire season, everyone tells us how "strong" and "independent" this deeanna lady is supposed to be. you know what, fuck it, let's call her a girl, not a lady or a woman. so this supposedly strong and independent girl works her way to the final 2 and not only (apparently) falls in love on a glorified, extended dating game show (that is ridiculously produced and semi-scripted, i believe) ... she's SO strong and independent that on the reunion show 2-3 months later, after being rejected, she cried and said she still wishes he would be with her.

im so impressed with how strong and independent she is. not to mention how over-the-top intelligent.
