You ever notice how whenever someone gets heated, their sub-culture really comes out? (I say sub-culture because I don’t really think race is the key qualifier here. Money also is not the main factor.)

Let’s talk about black people………...

Is anyone else as scared as I am to go there?

Let me first say, this isn’t a generalization of all “the black”. It’s one of poor black people and/or rappers (wannabe and otherwise)

Subculture: The Hood

So, black people – they talk normal all the time. (and by normal, I mean somewhat understandable) Naturally we’ve come to expect (and accept, really) the occasional misnomer, error in diction, general grammar butchering, and overall misinterpretation of our language. Other than that, they talk just like the rest of us. But then as soon as they get pissed off or in a fight with someone it goes to shit (even more so). Their “English” goes down faster than your girlfriend. Even by ebonical standards, the words are only marginally identifiable.

Subculture: Redneck/Hillbilly

Wow. Just turn on Jerry Springer, holmes. This is a treat. Occasionally I’ll flip by this action and hear one of these losers really outdoing himself. Sounding pretty much just like the rest of us (maybe not quite as refined, ya know). Then as soon as they bring out his fiancée and her boyfriend (his brother) the shit hits the fan and suddenly his English gets uglier than Yo Momma, Wilmer. It’s like they bring each other down. Alone, they could maybe pass as moderately intelligent, decent people; but you get them in a group (especially when they’re going at it verbally or engaging in hillbilly fisticuffs) and you may as well bleep out the entire thing, Jerry, cos no one is following this trash. The sum of their parts is definitely less than the individual pieces. Good work…

With both of these examples, it’s not just the speech that goes to hell. It’s all the little jewels of said sub-culture really becoming magnified. Hand gestures, slang, values, etc. It’s really beautiful.

I’m wondering if this holds true everywhere. Like, rich white people for instance. When they get heated or get into a fight, do they like, really turn up the idiosyncrasies? Do they go get an even better job and make even more money? Would I be even more successful if I were swimming in confrontation? Can you imagine this? If conflict magnified everyone’s natural tendencies? Would little Chinese hands churn out twice the number of Nikes? Would Asians cut their hair even weirder and do math even faster? Do black people ramp up their illegitimate children bearing & criminal activity along with the aforementioned increases in “blackness”? We know Muslims get even more militant, so why wouldn’t this hold true across the board? Maybe the Germans were just in an argument over something trivial and suddenly the world was in the middle of a World War.
