big shifta made the olympics

or at least thats the feel i get from our boy bode miller spittin truth like kevin federline spits fire (fire!) ...he isnt afraid to come out and say that lance armstrong and barry bonds took performance enhancers, and they knew full well what they were doing.
and you know what? it doesnt matter if he's right. he's just a "nobody" who is in the limelight for the winter olympics. but besides michelle kwan, who is poised to blow her 29th consecutive attempt at olympic gold, i cant name another US athlete in the winter games. so bode is probably locking down some tv appearances, or at least a couple more magazine "interviews" -- ahh yes the american way

i just like it that this guy has the nuts to stand up and challenge lance armstrong publicly. since lance had cancer and overcame that, it's like the guy had a free pass on those questions...except with french, and we americans dont respect their opinions apparently

affirmative action and communism

both are great in theory. in theory

hey, i would be in support of both of them if either actually served its intended purpose. since i am incredibly racist, i am mostly going to talk about affirmative action for a couple minutes.

now i dont know the origins for affirmative action, b/c i am ignorant and lazy (the american way!). it may have evolved out of the civil rights and women's suffrage movements, for all i know. maybe throw a little indian reparations into the mix, too(?)

here's the point though: it doesnt help those who need it. the people who benefit from this are those who are qualified enough to get into the schools, get a similar job, etc. lets look at a couple examples:
1. college M has quotas. you've got a great male candidate, but he's male, and he cannot tick any of the boxes to say he's a race other than caucasian. this guy may be beaten out by any number of people, including: a slightly-less-qualified female, regardless of race; an hispanic of either gender who may or may not be less qualified; an african-american of either gender more/less qualified; hell, even a guy who looks just like that male, but who can tick "pacific islander" or some other box.
2. business X, same thing. this business may forgo hiring the better candidate simply so they appear "diverse" and "understanding" ...and yes women can be victims under affirmative action too

point being, the wrong people get to advance, and the wrong people lose out. in example 1, the raceless, better-qualified guy loses. the university potentially loses. who gains? someone who either could have gotten in anyways now gets a scholarship, or someone who doesnt belong at that university. hooray diversity
example 2, the better candidate loses, and the business loses. sorry, but if im running a company, capitalism is driving me. not that dirty diversity idea...you could have 3 heads for all i care, as long as you came to kick ass and chew gum (and you're all outta gum)

anyways, here's the point. we gave communism a try, and it clearly doesnt work the way it was intended. now affirmative action has had it's shot. time to take it to pasture...darwin is spinning in his grave

question(s) of the day

this is very brief, and i want to hear some thoughts on it, b/c im not sure i know the answer...

why is it that (generally all)band kids and swimteam kids are so strange? they have their own cults of alternate reality...but why?!

is it because they spend way too much time doing their respective activities, and therefore have no exposure to "normal" society, and therefore just develop their own (society, reality, babies)?

----update----

another question: okay, so we know a lot of black people are ostentatious. they love to live large...so is this some sort of subconscious self-granted reparations?
clearly there is something fueling this "competition" to have the most blingin-est house/ride/mouth around, but what is it?
