thanks, in large part, to the miracle of facebook, i have gotten to observe many friends and acquaintances (people i actually know/knew, not just randoms that i stalk...i swear) who either got married or have posted pictures of their friends who got married.
this is all relatively normal, until you see the high school graduation year as 2003 or 2004. what the hell is the rush?
im sure if harped the point(lessness) about getting married early, but i have this hunch that the average age of public school kids getting married is probably at least a year or two below the average age of private school kids. this could be for a number of reasons...
the first one maybe should be that people who go to private schools are uglier, on average, than public schools. that isnt to say that there arent dimepieces coming out of private schools...just to speak to the average "talent" at public versus private schools.
the second thought maybe should be that public schools are usually much larger than private schools, so theres a much bigger pool to draw from...even if you dont date the person in high school that you eventually marry, you might have still known them, and you both might have always wanted to test the waters. who knows.
i think the most significant factor, however, is the average intelligence and aspirations at private versus public schools. people at private schools are either rich or intelligent, generally. either way, this means they have more opportunities to build a career, and to build one earlier in life, than their public school counterparts.
most public school people that i know stay in state to go to college, if they even go to college. so, in oklahoma for example, this means OU, OSU, and some of the rose state, okc community college, and osu-okc types. regardless, OU is a 40 minute drive from okc, and OSU is less than an hour and a half. this means theyre all close together and can hang out all the time.
private school kids may go in state, or they may go out of state. it may be about even as to who stays and who goes, but there are less opportunities to "fall back" into your old high school crowd, at least not to fall back into it as often as the pubbies (not to be confused with pubies).
i dont know where im going with this, but this is obviously very scientific evidence i have here. whether its religion, insecurity, [un]intelligence, proximity, aspirations/opportunities, or something else, i really feel like the pubbies are getting married at an average younger age. can anyone help me out with this?
i would submit to you that we have a very skewed view of the real world, living in oklahoma. i think these idiots are getting hitched because of their neighbor, JC.
when all else fails; blame the church. trust me on this
when all else fails, i thought we blamed the jews? when did JC become the fall guy?
