gay status quo?

okay so obviously in the 80s, gay guys were fucking in the butt a lot. they didnt know about aids, and they figured they would know if the guy had herpes/warts, and anything else can be cured pretty easily. so, why not fuck in the butt, sans condom? after all, only sailors [and smart rapists] use condoms, baby.
so what i wanna know is - did the aids scare turn gay guys off of buttsex entirely? i mean is buttsex now as sacred as christians claim regular sex is? as in wait til marriage...or in the case of gay guys, a "steady" [read: more than a month] boy? do they still do a lot of buttsex but choose their partner more carefully? do they use the dreaded jimmy hat?
if i had to guess, i would say gay guys just do a lot of blowjobs. theyre showy and like to flaunt things anyways, why not show off your oral skills, aiken?
is there anywhere i could find this out? these are things that we as a people need to know..not that there's anything wrong with that
