fellas, i thought id take the opportunity to run with the topic for one second, rather than start another post. shifta, what would happen if "we" tried to organize a WHITE IMAGE AWARDS to counter the black image awards hosted recently? i mean this would take us back to 1960s-level riots, am i wrong? how long should america allow the blatant isolationism and racism of such things as black entertainment television (which i watch), the NAACP, and the black image awards? i guess the naacp is okay b/c it is just fighting for the rights of its people, but come on. white entertainment television? white image awards?
hypocrisy is more rampant among the black community than the southern baptist convention. and for the sake of full disclosure, i love black people (and think they influence pop culture more than any other "group"), and i was raised in a southern baptist church. doesnt mean i have to agree with everything they do or say.


I think I'm okay with the whole thing --- self-segregation. If that's how "they" want it, I think I'll let it slide. I'm not sure why black leaders in the past tried so hard to integrate the races -- it apparently isn't the direction they wanted to go.

After all, they need a place to all get together, be loud and obnoxious, make fun of white people, and shoot at each other over lyrics and what not. Typically, white folk don't want to be involved in those activities.

P.S. I'm not sure -- but White Hisotry Month may be the appropriate time (if there is one at all) to bring up the modern-day slave trade known as professional sports. I've submitted this theory in the past and it gets shot down by the "we pay them millions of dollars" rebuttal. But I'm not buyin' it. They still "own" people, mostly minorities being purchased by old white dudes. How is this being overlooked? I think everyone needs to pick a side right now. Either be outraged or entertained by it. I think you know where Shifta stands.

homosexuality is a defect

Studlystuf: Just last week, nine former fans of Aiken proceeded with a lawsuit against Clays record label, alleging they were tricked by marketing and promotional campaigns that pretended Aiken was heterosexual. The group says that Aiken and the label:
"engaged in collusion to prevent public disclosures they believed might be harmful to their product … This is tantamount to a manufacturer concealing information about a defective product. As consumers, we feel ripped off. It is obvious now that the private Clay is very different from the manufactured packaged public Clay that was marketed to us."

ayla brown is an american idol

i think american idol is a misnomer. the last "idol" for our beloved country couldnt even read...who's looking up to that?

but as far as the name and its literal meaning, ayla brown fits in quite well. she's young, eager, relatively attractive, and talented at way too many things. and she works hard to get what she wants. we had a guy like this at the high school across town. graham colton...look it up

is ayla the best on the show? nah, probably not. but she has been the most consistent performer so far, probably. has anyone else tackled two talented vocalists thus far? not that i know of...and she handled her shit on both songs. bonus!

just a little rambling while we're on idol. top 4 guys by far are taylor, elliot, chris, and ace. as far as commercial appeal, i think chris and ace are way above the other 2

on the female side...katharine is my girl, for sure. she just has "it" - the look, the sound, the endearing personality...the two super youngins, paris and lisa, have handled their shit as well. i think these three, plus ayla SHOULD be top 4 for the ladies. kinnik, brenna, and the two blonde porn star looking girls are clearly on a lower echelon for talent. melissa and mandisa are the unpredictable ones, but i dont think either will crack the top 4...unless i totally missed something
